PANews reported on February 1st that the World Laureates Summit 2026 (WLS 2026), hosted by the World Laureates Association (WLA) and co-hosted by KuCoin, officially opened in Dubai, UAE. The summit brings together top scientists, representatives from research institutions, and policymakers from around the world to promote dialogue between basic science and public governance within the same context.
As one of the co-organizers, KuCoin positions itself as a long-term builder of "trustworthy digital infrastructure," providing underlying trust support for fintech, scientific research collaboration, and public governance through the verifiable, traceable, and collaborative capabilities of blockchain, and emphasizing support for human scientific and technological progress from a long-term technological perspective.

The summit, themed "Basic Science: Addressing Human Challenges with Scientific Consensus," emphasizes establishing a more direct connection between basic scientific discoveries and global governance and public policy needs. The "Mobius Forum," held on the first day of the summit, focused on topics such as artificial intelligence, disruptive technologies, new energy sources, and scientific discovery, exploring how to translate scientific insights into actionable future frameworks and long-term public value.
At the opening ceremony, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended and inaugurated the summit. UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Office Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Dubai Crown Prince, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also attended the first day of the summit.
The WLS 2026 event will last for three days. On February 2nd, KuCoin will host the "AI x Blockchain Science Forum," focusing on the application prospects of blockchain technology in scientific research collaboration, digital infrastructure, and public governance.
