GoTyme Bank Targets US IPO Listing In 3 to 4 Years

GoTyme Bank Corp., a joint venture between the Gokongwei group and TymeBank South Africa, is exploring an initial public offering (IPO) within the next three to four years.

However, the digital lender is prioritising significant business expansion before hitting the public markets.

GoTyme President and CEO Nathaniel Clarke indicated a preference for a US listing, citing the need for scale to attract global investors.

He observed that analysts and investors do not heavily cover the Philippine market.

Consequently, he suggested that the bank needs to be a “very, very big business to matter for international markets.”

To achieve this, the group aims to double its current customer base of 20 million across its markets before listing. Clarke also highlighted financial milestones, stating they are aiming for a net operating income close to US$1 billion.

Currently, the group generates approximately US$315 million in annual revenue between South Africa and the Philippines.

On the domestic front, GoTyme ended 2025 with 8.3 million users. The bank targets adding over 3 million customers this year, potentially reaching 12 million by year-end.

Growth strategies include expanding its kiosk network and launching new features. The bank recently introduced cryptocurrency offerings and is set to roll out Philippine stock trading in partnership with DragonFi.

Regarding financial performance, Clarke mentioned the bank is on track to turn profitable by 2027.

While an earlier target was set for 2025, the executive clarified that the current focus remains on scaling operations rather than immediate profitability.
