President Donald Trump may have set up Vice President JD Vance to fail on his latest trip to negotiate an end to the war in Iran because Trump knows Vance is "not on board" with the operation, one analyst speculated on Monday.
Brandon Weichert, host of "NatSec Talk" on Rumble, joined conservative podcaster and radio host Megyn Kelly on "The Megyn Kelly Show" on Monday to discuss Vance's trip to Pakistan. Vance traveled to the country and met with Iranian officials for more than 20 hours, but failed to secure a peace deal, according to reports.

Weichert speculated that the trip was designed to make Vance look like a failure because Trump knew Iran would never agree to some of the points that were discussed, like opening the Strait of Hormuz and ceasing their uranium enrichment activities.
"I think this is partly to diminish the vice president in the eyes of uh the world," Weichert said.
"It's unfair what they're saying about him, but ultimately, perception is power," he added. "The president and his team understand that, and there are people around the president, maybe the president himself, who didn't like that the vice president was clearly not on board."
