Ferrari’s First Four-Door EV Boasts Cutting-Edge Battery Tech

TLDRs:

  • Ferrari unveils its first four-door EV, featuring 1,000 horsepower and a 329-mile range.
  • The Elettrica uses a 122 kWh NMC battery and supports 350 kW fast charging.
  • Ferrari’s high-performance EV targets ultra-luxury infrastructure, including hotels and private clubs.
  • Launch expected next year at roughly €500,000, expanding Ferrari’s electric offerings.

Ferrari has officially revealed the technological backbone of its upcoming electric vehicle, the Elettrica, at its Maranello headquarters.

The Italian automaker has remained secretive about the complete design, but insiders were shown the chassis and powertrain, showcasing Ferrari’s first foray into fully electric four-door vehicles.

The Elettrica promises extraordinary performance: in boost mode, the vehicle can reach up to 1,000 horsepower, achieve a top speed of 193 mph, and accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. With a range of 329 miles on the WLTP cycle, the EV positions itself as a serious contender in the luxury electric segment, blending Ferrari’s traditional speed with next-generation sustainability.

Cutting-Edge Battery and Fast Charging

At the heart of the Elettrica is a 122 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, supplied by SK On and assembled in-house by Ferrari.

This battery supports 350 kW charging via an 800-volt system, allowing owners to recharge rapidly, ideal for high-performance usage. Ferrari has also introduced sound amplification technology, projecting the powertrain’s vibrations to maintain an engaging driving experience reminiscent of its internal combustion heritage.

Despite its advanced charging capabilities, the rollout highlights a gap in ultra-luxury EV infrastructure. While 350 kW charging is fast, many locations frequented by Ferrari clients LIKE five-star hotels, private clubs, and marinas, still rely on slower Level 2 chargers. Ferrari has yet to announce partnerships with luxury charging networks, leaving infrastructure development as a key challenge for potential owners.

Tailored Charging for Ultra-Luxury Clients

Ferrari’s 90,000 active clients worldwide represent a niche but lucrative market for premium charging solutions. Hospitality operators and charging infrastructure companies could capitalize on this by installing 350 kW fast chargers in select luxury venues.

These sites could cater to Elettrica owners with concierge services, fine dining, and business amenities during brief DC fast-charging stops.

Additionally, Ferrari plans to open flagship lifestyle stores in London and New York in 2026, alongside bespoke Tailor Made centers in Tokyo and Los Angeles in 2027. These hubs are likely to become primary destinations for Elettrica owners, signaling where charging infrastructure investments could be most effective.

Launch and Market Positioning

The Elettrica is slated for a 2026 debut, with a starting price near €500,000 (US$578,650). With no second EV expected before 2028, Ferrari is focusing on a small, exclusive fleet that balances high performance with cutting-edge electric technology.

The four-door design, independent electric motors, rear-wheel steering, and active suspension without an anti-roll bar emphasize both practicality and Ferrari’s signature driving dynamics.

The Elettrica represents a bold step in Ferrari’s electrification journey, merging luxury performance with next-generation EV technology. While the market for ultra-high-performance EVs is still limited, Ferrari’s early entry and focus on infrastructure-tailored solutions could set a blueprint for other luxury automakers.

The post Crypto.com Reveals Hidden User Data Breach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. According to a Bloomberg investigation, Crypto.com, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, reportedly suffered a security breach it never disclosed. The report linked the incident to Scattered Spider, a hacking group that often targets companies with social engineering tactics. The group comprises mainly teenagers who specialize in tricking employees into handing over their credentials. Sponsored Sponsored According to Bloomberg, the attackers posed as IT staff and persuaded unnamed Crypto.com employees to surrender login credentials. Once inside, they attempted to escalate their access by targeting senior staff accounts. Crypto.com told Bloomberg that the attack affected only “a very small number of individuals” and emphasized that customer funds remained untouched. The firm has yet to provide additional information about the incident as of press time. Meanwhile, security experts argue that the exchange’s decision not to disclose the breach undermines confidence in its security practices. They argue that its failure to share details about the incident leaves its users uncertain about the extent of the exposure and vulnerable to possible follow-up attacks. This concern is significant because Coinbase previously suffered a similar breach that exposed its customers to more than $300 million yearly losses. On-chain investigator ZachXBT accused Crypto.com of deliberately covering up the breach. He also stressed that this was not the first time the platform had been linked to undisclosed security lapses Sponsored Sponsored His comments echo wider industry frustration about exchanges that quietly downplay breaches to protect their reputations. Meanwhile, the incident has also reignited criticism of the industry’s reliance on Know Your Customer (KYC) systems. Pseudonymous security researcher Pcaversaccio reacted sharply to the issues, arguing that KYC requirements create massive data honeypots for hackers. “You can change a password easily, but not your passport and they f#cking know it well. We’re basically the collateral in their surveillance racket,”…
