The post This New Crypto Under $1 Could Be the Last Big Entry of Q1 2026, Here’s Why appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News

The Q1 of 2026 has been a wild ride for the digital asset market. While top cryptocurrencies are struggling to maintain their momentum, a new wave of utility-driven protocols is preparing to reshape the decentralized finance landscape. Many investors are currently looking for that one specific entry point that offers both safety and explosive growth potential before the market reaches full maturity.

Timing is everything in this space. History shows that the biggest winners are often those who recognize a shift in technology before it becomes common knowledge. As we move deeper into the year, the window of opportunity for early-stage participation is rapidly closing. One new crypto project in particular is standing out as the final major contender of the quarter. It is moving from a simple concept to a fully functional financial engine.

Introducing Mutuum Finance (MUTM)

Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is a modern lending and borrowing protocol. It is designed for investors who want to use their capital without selling their favorite assets. The platform uses a dual-market system to provide flexibility for every type of user.

The first part of this system is the Peer-to-Contract (P2C) market. In this setup, you provide assets like ETH or USDT directly into a shared liquidity pool. In return, you receive mtTokens. These are not just receipts; they are yield-bearing assets.

The second part is the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) market. This is for users who want more control over their lending terms. You can set specific interest rates and choose which assets you want to accept as collateral. This is perfect for handling different types of tokens, including those with higher volatility.

Safety is managed through strict Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios. If you use a stable asset like USDT, you might have a 75% LTV. This means you can borrow $750 for every $1,000 you put up. For more volatile coins, the LTV might be lower, around 35%, to keep the system safe. If the value of your collateral drops too far, an automated Liquidator Bot settles the debt. This prevents the platform from losing money and keeps it healthy for everyone.

Detailed Presale and Tokenomics

The growth of the MUTM community has been one of the biggest stories of the year. So far, the project has raised over $20.1 million from more than 19,000 individual holders. This level of support shows that the market is hungry for real utility.

The token structure is built for long-term value. There is a total supply of 4 billion MUTM tokens. The team allocated 45.5% of that total, which equals 1.82 billion tokens, specifically for the presale. Demand has been so high that over 835 million tokens have already been claimed. This means the available supply is shrinking fast.

The price action during this phase has been impressive. Investors who joined during Phase 1 at $0.01 have already seen their value grow. Currently, in Phase 7, the price is $0.04. By the time the token reaches its official launch price of $0.06, those early Phase 1 participants will enjoy a 500% appreciation. Even joining now at $0.04 offers a built-in discount the moment the token hits the open market.

To keep the community excited, the project features a 24-hour leaderboard. The top daily contributor earns a bonus of $500 in MUTM tokens. This constant activity is why each phase is selling out faster than the one before it.

V1 Launch and Security

A major turning point for Mutuum Finance occurred recently, with the official launch of the V1 protocol on the Sepolia testnet. This beta release marks the transition from development to a functional ecosystem. It allows the community to stress-test core features in a risk-free environment.

The Sepolia testnet launch lets users interact with the full lending and borrowing lifecycle. Core features now live for testing include Liquidity Pools for assets like ETH, USDT, LINK, and WBTC. These pools use dynamic interest rates that adjust based on market use.

When you deposit assets, you receive mtTokens which act as yield-bearing receipts that grow in value over time. Borrowers receive Debt Tokens to track their balances in real-time. An automated Liquidator Bot is also active to monitor health factors and ensure the protocol remains solvent.

Before this launch, Mutuum Finance focused on hardening its code. This V1 release is backed by a full security review from Halborn. The MUTM token itself holds a 90/100 score from CertiK. To ensure the system is ready for a full launch, the team maintains an active $50,000 bug bounty to reward developers who find vulnerabilities during this testing phase.

Market sentiment is shifting rapidly as these technical milestones are met. While larger coins often see slow, incremental gains, observers note that MUTM’s modest market cap creates a “springboard effect.” Several analysts believe MUTM can potentially climb into the $0.60 to $1.20 range as the mainnet goes live. This represents a massive leap in valuation, fueled by the protocol’s ability to solve liquidity gaps that older, more rigid platforms have ignored.

Stablecoins and Layer-2

The roadmap for Mutuum Finance goes far beyond the current launch. One of the most critical steps coming next is the creation of a native over-collateralized stablecoin. This will allow users to mint a dollar-pegged asset against their crypto holdings. This makes borrowing even cheaper and more efficient than using third-party stables.

Additionally, the protocol is expanding to Layer-2 networks. This is a huge deal for the average investor. By moving to Layer-2, Mutuum Finance can offer lightning-fast transactions and extremely low gas fees. It ensures that someone with $100 can use the platform just as easily as someone with $100,000.

This combination of a native stablecoin and Layer-2 scaling is what will make Mutuum Finance a permanent fixture in the DeFi world. It solves the high cost and complexity issues that have held back older platforms for years.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
