Vitalik Buterin Announces New Ethereum (ETH) Decision Following Yesterday’s $220 Million Investment!

Ethereum (ETH) founder Vitalik Buterin has made new statements regarding Ethereum following his remarks yesterday.

Accordingly, Buterin stated that he will donate 16,384 ETH to support the Ethereum ecosystem.

In a statement from his X account, the founder of Ethereum said the Ethereum Foundation has entered a period of mild austerity to support its ambitious roadmap and long-term sustainability.

As part of these cost-saving measures, Buterin stated that he had a share in the austerity measures and announced that he would donate his 16,384 ETH to support the open-source hardware and software ecosystem.

Buterin also stated that he will continue to prioritize the fundamental development of Ethereum.

Looking ahead, Buterin also added that he plans to focus on investing in open silicon, encrypted messaging, and privacy-preserving operating systems, rather than closed ecosystems led by enterprises.

“The Ethereum Foundation is entering a period of slight austerity in order to meet two goals simultaneously over the next five years.”

….

Therefore, I have withdrawn 16,384 ETH to be used towards these goals over the next few years. I am also exploring secure, decentralized staking options that will allow an even larger portion of the capital earned from staking rewards to be directed towards these goals in the long term.”
