Aster, a privacy-focused trading ecosystem powered by YZi Labs, today announced the official launch of its Aster Chain mainnet. This Layer 1 blockchain, designed specifically for trading, aims to break the "transparency trap" of modern decentralized finance, providing institutional-grade privacy and performance comparable to centralized exchanges for professional and retail traders worldwide.

Ending the era of on-chain "position sniping"

Aster Chain officially launched: Defining a new era of on-chain privacy and transparency.

Transparency is one of the core advantages of DeFi: public ledgers, verifiable transactions, and open protocols. However, transparency "between the protocol and users" is vastly different from transparency "between traders and competitors." When every order, position size, and liquidation price is publicly available, this information can be exploited against traders.

Position hunting, where traders identify large positions and their liquidation prices and coordinate to trigger forced liquidation, has cost traders millions of dollars on Transparency platforms. The most notable case occurred in March 2025 when a trader opened a $375 million short position in BTC at 40x leverage on Transparency; other traders then quickly launched a public fundraising campaign on Twitter (now X) to collectively target and liquidate the position.

Aster's default privacy mechanism completely eliminates this attack surface.

Aster's core argument: Privacy is a fundamental right.

Unlike existing solutions that treat privacy as an "optional feature" or a "third-party wrapper layer," Aster Chain embeds cryptography directly into the execution layer. On Aster, privacy is the default option, not a privilege.

Aster's privacy stack employs a zero-knowledge-verification cryptographic architecture:

  • Zero-knowledge verifiable encryption + stealth address mechanism: Every order is encrypted with zero-knowledge verifiable encryption before being recorded on the blockchain; after enabling account privacy, orders will be routed through a unique stealth address to ensure that there is no connection between the user's wallet and the transaction activity, while preventing any third party from tracking, associating, or reconstructing the transaction.
  • Selective disclosure: While the execution layer protects the user's policy intent, users who wish their activities to be made public can choose to disclose their transaction information. With account privacy enabled, users can generate "Viewer Passes" to share with specific parties; only the holder of the pass can view their private orders.
  • Zero performance trade-offs: The Aster chain achieves peak throughput of over 100,000 TPS, a median block time of 50ms, and requires no gas payments—performance comparable to the centralized exchange speeds traders expect.

Aster CEO Leonard stated, "Transparency between the protocol and users is a fundamental feature, but transparency between traders and competitors is a serious vulnerability. Aster Chain is the only architecture that treats privacy as a basic requirement of a fair market, neutralizing predatory attacks from the ground up."

The speed of CEX meets the principle of DEX

Aster Chain offers sub-second transaction finality and high leverage while adhering to the core principles of decentralization: self-custody, verifiability, and permissionless access. This enhanced transaction privacy eliminates the last reason for users to remain on centralized exchanges. The network currently supports native cross-chain bridges connecting to BNB Chain and ensures high-precision price data through proprietary oracles.

Driving the next wave of innovation

The mainnet launch marks the beginning of a phase of expansion. In addition to the flagship Aster trading interface, the ecosystem is inviting developers to create dedicated vaults and collaborative DeFi products through Aster Code .

To coincide with this launch, Aster will launch the Aster Chain staking program within a week to reward early backers and liquidity providers.

Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny

The post Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The cryptocurrency world is buzzing with a recent controversy surrounding a bold OpenVPP partnership claim. This week, OpenVPP (OVPP) announced what it presented as a significant collaboration with the U.S. government in the innovative field of energy tokenization. However, this claim quickly drew the sharp eye of on-chain analyst ZachXBT, who highlighted a swift and official rebuttal that has sent ripples through the digital asset community. What Sparked the OpenVPP Partnership Claim Controversy? The core of the issue revolves around OpenVPP’s assertion of a U.S. government partnership. This kind of collaboration would typically be a monumental endorsement for any private cryptocurrency project, especially given the current regulatory climate. Such a partnership could signify a new era of mainstream adoption and legitimacy for energy tokenization initiatives. OpenVPP initially claimed cooperation with the U.S. government. This alleged partnership was said to be in the domain of energy tokenization. The announcement generated considerable interest and discussion online. ZachXBT, known for his diligent on-chain investigations, was quick to flag the development. He brought attention to the fact that U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce had directly addressed the OpenVPP partnership claim. Her response, delivered within hours, was unequivocal and starkly contradicted OpenVPP’s narrative. How Did Regulatory Authorities Respond to the OpenVPP Partnership Claim? Commissioner Hester Peirce’s statement was a crucial turning point in this unfolding story. She clearly stated that the SEC, as an agency, does not engage in partnerships with private cryptocurrency projects. This response effectively dismantled the credibility of OpenVPP’s initial announcement regarding their supposed government collaboration. Peirce’s swift clarification underscores a fundamental principle of regulatory bodies: maintaining impartiality and avoiding endorsements of private entities. Her statement serves as a vital reminder to the crypto community about the official stance of government agencies concerning private ventures. Moreover, ZachXBT’s analysis…
